Importing Goods into Anguilla: Landed Cost for Businesses

Supplier price is only the first line of the budget. Build the full landed cost before setting a retail price or ordering stock.

Commercial importers should calculate landed cost before making purchasing and pricing decisions. Freight, insurance, customs duty, Goods Tax, service charges, brokerage, port handling, local transport and inventory carrying costs can materially change the margin.

Goods Tax

The general Goods Tax rate is 9% at importation under the 2025 reform, while specified tariff lines are zero-rated. Do not apply a flat assumption to every item: the correct customs classification determines the applicable rate and other duties.

Commercial TIN and customs records

Ensure the business uses its correct Tax Identification Number for commercial import/export transactions and that customs entries reconcile to the accounting records. Keep supplier invoices, freight documents, customs entries and proof of payment together.

A simple landed-cost stack

  • Supplier invoice value.
  • International freight, insurance and consolidation.
  • Import duty and Goods Tax.
  • Customs service fees, excise or other charges where applicable.
  • Brokerage, port/airport handling, storage and local transport.
  • Financing, spoilage, shrinkage and inventory carrying cost.
